SCC Scholarship Recipients

Did you know that the SCC offers scholarships to deserving students and promising athletes? Every year, the club selects winners based on the following criteria: applicants must be on the Salmon Arm Secondary (SAS) mountain bike team, attend a post-secondary school the following year, and demonstrate community involvement. The school and SAS coach Chris Stromgren recommend the winners.

Here are this year’s recipients!

Marika Meerza
Marika is part of the SAS mountain bike team and helps out with our Tuesday Youth Rides. Here’s what she said when she found out she had been selected for this year’s scholarship:

“I have appreciated the opportunities that the biking community has given me, through trail building and leading the Tuesday night rides. I plan on attending Okanagan College from 2022-2024 to get an Associate of Arts degree. I hope to transfer those credits to UVIC and finish Post-Secondary with a Bachelor of Arts.
