The Shuswap Cycling Club is the voice for cycling in the Shuswap. Our mandate is to promote cycling through advocacy and hosting or assisting with community cycling events. Annual memberships help the Club promote safe and enjoyable cycling locally. Your membership provides funds to advance our projects. Strong membership numbers are also critical to show that we have the people behind our passion.

Member Benefits

Your membership with the Shuswap Cycling Club is great for cycling in the Shuswap. But it is also great for you!

Trail Maintenance and Building

The Bike Club spends some of your membership fee on trail maintenance, including tools, materials and equipment, and sometimes professional trail builders. We undertake trail planning and organize trail maintenance volunteer days.

Partnerships and Advocacy

The Club works with agencies like Rec Sites and Trails BC and the Shuswap Trail Alliance to secure access and resources for trails and facilities, to coordinate maintenance and for trail planning and building.

Events and Promotions

The Club has helped community events like Bike to School and Bike to Work Week. We are at the Salty Street Fest every year promoting cycling in the Shuswap and running a bike swap. We can help members promote their events or rides. We have hosted a few movies at the Salmar Classic. And we are always looking for feedback on other ways we can direct our energies. If you have an idea, let us know!

Winter Trail Grooming

The SCC has been working with passionate local fat bike SCC members to begin a winter trail grooming program at South Canoe. Membership dollars go towards advocacy and planning. There are also opportunities to specifically donate to this program when creating your membership.

Members-only Facebook Group

Members have access to an exclusive Facebook group to keep the conversation going about biking in the Shuswap. You can use it to plan your own group rides and find new riding partners, ask for advice about bikes and gear, share your experiences or just get stoked about riding. If you’re a member, you can join the group here.
