Donating to or becoming a member the Shuswap Cycling Society directly help improve cycling in our region!
Trail Maintenance and Building
The Bike Club spends some of your membership fee on trail maintenance, including tools, materials and equipment, and sometimes professional trail builders. We undertake trail planning and organize trail maintenance volunteer days.
We also support the Shuswap Trail Alliance with their trail building efforts at South Canoe.
Discounts on Races and Community Events
Get early access and member-only discounts on Club events. We organize several races throughout the year, including the Salty Dog Enduro, the Rubberhead Enduro, the Frosty Dog Fat Bike Enduro, and SCC XC Race.
Access to Club Rides and Insurance
New for 2024, Members now have access to SCC group rides and member insurance. Insurance for members is an Accidental Death & Dismemberment policy.
Youth Programs
Memberships pays for our Youth Programming. Subject to availability, membership includes free registration in the popular SCC Youth Program at South Canoe.
Partnerships and Advocacy
The Club works with agencies like Rec Sites and Trails BC and the Shuswap Trail Alliance to secure access and resources for trails and facilities, to coordinate maintenance and for trail planning and building.
Events and Promotions
The Club has helped community events like Go By Bike Week. We are at Salty Street Fest every year promoting cycling in the Shuswap and running a bike swap. We can help members promote their events or rides. We have hosted a few movies at the Salmar Classic. And we are always looking for feedback on other ways we can direct our energies. If you have an idea, let us know!
Winter Trail Grooming
The SCC has been working with passionate local fat bike SCC members to begin a winter trail grooming program at South Canoe. Membership dollars go towards advocacy and planning. There are also opportunities to specifically donate to this program when creating your membership.
