Road and Gravel Cycling in the Shuswap
The Shuswap is situated in south-central British Columbia midway between Vancouver, BC, and Calgary, AB, and offers a multitude of road and gravel cycling opportunities. Nestled in the Monashee Mountain range (a sub-range of the famous Columbia Range) the Shuswap offers spectacular and varied road surfaces for race training, cycle touring and gravel exploring.

The Shuswap is also home to several popular road events, such as the COBRA Century, Dave’s Ride and the Salmon Arm Ride for Your Life and numerous others, the variety of routes throughout the Shuswap is truly astounding.
- COBRA’s Okanagan Shuswap Century Ride (Armstrong based): Registration opens on Monday, April 3 at 6 a.m. – on-line, registration limited to first 475 cyclists – usually fills up in the first 2 hours!
- Dave’s Ride (Vernon-based): Registration opened Monday, Feb. 27. 20 cyclists
- Salmon Arm Bike for Your Life Century Ride: Registration opens on Monday, June 5 at 6 a.m. – on-line or paper, registration limited to 600 cyclists, fills up gradually, 100 registrations reserved for Salmon Arm area cyclists, no limit on the number of 10K cyclists.
