The Shuswap Cycling Club is excited to host a Level 1 Trail Workshop April 22nd and 23rd, sponsored by Rec Sites and Trails BC

The course will be taught by Mark Woods, experienced trail designer and instructor from Trail Holistics. It will be a mix of classroom and practical instruction, and will cover the principles and culture in trail building, sustainability, assessment, planning, and construction. 

The workshop is a Level 1-Foundation Course and is comprised of 3 key components, each a half day (3 hour) session:

THEORY The classroom session teaches modern techniques to build and maintain sustainable trails. (Morning of April 22nd)

CRITICAL After the classroom session, we head into the field to put our knowledge into practice. During site visits, we assess issues and determine prescriptions with an emphasis on critical thinking. (Afternoon of April 22nd)

PRACTICAL During the practical field session, the key concepts come together as we put theory into practice to tackle an appropriate project either fixing a section of trail or constructing a new project. (Morning of April 23rd)
