The Shuswap Cycling Club is once again inviting all friends of cycling to Skookum – Thursday, April 4.
Come have fun and support the Shuswap Cycling Club. Need to renew your membership? Sign up there, or online at Zone4.ca. Recently updated your membership? Come and pick up your 2019 membership decal to slap on your pride and joy.
There will be hot dogs by donation and beers for $5.
We have SCC T-Shirts available – limited quantity so grab one while they last.
Money raised at the event and through ticket and t-shirt sales will help the club with such items as Rubberhead trail maintenance and trail building, purchase of equipment to better assist in trail maintenance!

We maintain trails at Rubberhead, plan and build new trails, organize Voly Days, work with Rec Sites and BC, the Shuswap Trail Alliance and others to improve facilities and ensure access, and host all kinds of fun rides and events.

Have a look at the newest race coming this summer. The Okanagan 24 is being organized in part by pro rider and Salty Dog regular (regular winner as well) Corey Wallace.
The race is located at Silver Star mountain June 29-30, at an elevation of 1,609 m (5,280 ft) that makes it Canada’s highest 24 hour mountain bike race.
24 hour and 4 hour mountain bike races which are for all levels of riding ability. The 24 hour race categories are competitive teams of 5, solo racers and corporate teams of up to 10. The 4 hour race will allow for solo racers only to compete.

Be prepared to fill out the registration information, ensure you have all the following information on hand: team name, racer name(s), birth date, mailing address, email address, phone number, emergency contact(s) and phone details of someone not racing Salty.

Recreation Trail Closure in effect: South Canoe Trails – KC Reloaded and Lumpy – Harvesting operations will occur from December 21 2018 to January 31, 2019. All users please be aware of industrial traffic during this time.

Like other Societies we are required to update our bylaws to bring them in line with the new Societies Act. We will be voting on these bylaws at the upcoming AGM. This requires us to pass the following resolution as special resolution requiring the approval of a majority of not less than two thirds of the votes in person, of members of the Society, to alter the bylaws of the Society:
BE IT RESOLVED, AS A SPECIAL RESOLUTION of the Society pursuant to Division 4, Sections 15 and 17 of the Act (British Columbia), that the CONSTITUTION AND BYLAWS OF THE SOCIETY be repealed and replaced with the constitution and bylaws DATED July 6, 2018.

The 2018 Shuswap Cross Cyclocross race is this weekend in Salmon Arm at Klhanai Park. This race is part of the Interior Cross Series and there are categories for all types of riders with all kinds of bikes!
We have categories for Elite, Intermediate Novice, Single-Speed, Juniors, and a separate FREE Kids race for rippers under 12. Adults are only $25, Juniors $16.
