Bike For Your Life Century Ride
Blackburn Park 681 10 Avenue Southwest, Salmon Arm, BC, CanadaThe Bike For Your Life Tour started in 1998 with the hopes of promoting a healthy lifestyle, family solidarity, and community involvement through a fun cycling event in which all ages and abilities could participate. The four bike routes are designed to be safe and fun. Whether you have never ridden a bike before, or you are an endurance cyclist join in. Everyone is welcome! This is not a racing event. The emphasis is on participation, rather than time, to make it fun for an individual or family. Enjoy the company of fellow cyclists. Ride with your friends and challenge yourself to ride a route distance you might not consider doing on your own. Registration opens June 2nd, 6am. www.bikeforyourlife.com
Lake 2 Lake Ride for Rwanda
The Lake2Lake is a two-day fully supported bicycle ride stretching over 220km between Kalamalka Lake in Vernon and Eagle Bay on Shuswap Lake (overnighting at Eagle Bay Camp). It has been organized to raise funds for the work of The Wellspring Foundation in raising the quality of education in Rwandan public schools. Riders can participate without fundraising as an individual (early bird registration is $180 until June 16th) or as part of a team of four ($640 per team). Those who decide to fundraise may be eligible for a free jersey or ride registration. This year, volunteers or riders who fund-raise a minimum of $1200 will be entered into a draw for a trip for two to Rwanda. Wellspring's Ignite48 initiative currently impacts over 70,000 children, their teachers, parents and wider communities. It is our pleasure to invite cyclists to join us from near and far as we ride together for this worthy cause. For more information please refer to the website at www.lake2lake.org.
