Thanks for keeping us safe!\nIf you come across an injured rider\, ask if they are okay. If you don’t receive a reply\, STOP.\nIf they need urgent assistance\, call 9-1-1 then the emergency contact.\nFor non-urgent assistance\, call the emergency contact and send the next rider to the aid station. \nYou will be offered a re-run if you stop to assist an injured rider. \n\n\nWater / Food: \n\n\nA water station and some food will be available at the start of Stage 1\, then moved to the start of Stage 3 layer – courtesy of Blind Bay Village Grocer – Thanks!!\nA BBQ will be cooking starting around 11. Racers and volunteers receive a free meal. Others by donation. \n\n\n\nTiming and Race Etiquette:\n\n\nPlease be respectful of all volunteers and other racers.\nStarters must enter your race plate in their device. If you leave without their ok\, you won’t have a time! We are aiming for 30 second intervals but that is at the discretion of the starter – racers can self seed and narrow gaps if they like as long as they communicate with the starter.\nFinishes of the segments will be collected by the chip activators\, so there may not be a volunteer present. The finishes will be well marked though.\nChip timing is accurate and reliable. However it is possible a chip malfunctions. If you have your strava going we can look to use that instead.  \nLost or broken chips = $75 charge\nPlace the chips on your fork stanchion or seat post\, making sure it is secure and does not interfere with any components.\nOvertaking a rider should be done respectfully in a safe area.\nThere will be a few areas where the downhill segment crosses the uphill segment. Please be aware of your surroundings and climbers yield to descenders.\nRide well and have fun!\n\nResults and Awards:\n\n\nRubberhead Enduro 2005 Results on Zone4\nAwards will be announced shortly after the final racers completes.\n\n\nDraw Prizes:\n\n\nWe will be conducting a draw for prizes and will be posted by 1pm. SUMMARY:Shuswap Cycling Club XC Race
DESCRIPTION:REGISTRATION OPENS Aug 17th on ZONE 4 \nThe 2025 SCC XC is September 27!  \n\nSelf-Supportive Event: The event is self-supportive\, meaning that participants are responsible for their own navigation\, well-being\, and equipment throughout the race. There will be some limited route markings\, mostly through the Larch Hills Nordic Trails. You are responsible to be familiar with the route. The Route can be found on Trailforks. \nCourse Marshals: There are no Course Marshals. If you come across a rider in need please STOP to assist. 911 in case of an injury. \nAid Station: The only Aid Station on route will be at the Rubberhead Parking lot. This will have a limited supply of snacks and water. You are responsible to pack the food you need for this route. \nCourse: Participants are expected to understand the route themselves. This implies that there may not be course marshals or route markers\, so cyclists need to be able to navigate the course independently. \n\nThe Long Course will run from South Canoe to Rubbered using the Ida View Section if the Larch Hills Traverse. From the Top of Rubberhead to the Rubberhead Parking Lot\, then Climb back up DD and assorted trails to the top of Hemlock Glide and through the Larch Hills Nordic Trails to South Canoe. See Trailforks Route\nThe Short Course will skip the decent to the Rubberhead Parking Lot\, Once at the top of the Ida View Trail/top of Hemlock Glide\, riders will make their way back to South Canoe through the Larch Hills Nordic Trails. \n\nCategories: Mens and Womens of the long and short courses\, that’s it.  \nTiming: Old school\, we all leave at the same time and try to keep track of when you get back to South Canoe. \nEbikes: Sure\, fill your boots\, but you are not eligible for any category. \nPrizes: A crisp high 5 and bragging rights. \nAfter Party: There will be Chili and Bannock for all participants.  \nAssessment of Ability: Participants are encouraged to assess their own ability to complete the event.  \nSafety Responsibility: Safety is the responsibility of each participant. This includes having the necessary equipment such as maps\, GPS devices\, food and repair kits to ensure their well-being during the race. Your are required to stop and assist any riders in need along the course.
