Ron Ellis \nClick the image below to see a larger version of the full results. \n \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \nSpreadsheet Version \n\nThe 2nd annual Shuswap Cycling Club Frosty Dog Fat Bike Enduro – sponsored by Skookum Bike & Ski – is happening this Feb 10th. \nRace the groomed trails at South Canoe in this casual and fun-focused event! \nWhat: \nThis is a three-four stage enduro race at the South Canoe Trails near Salmon Arm. Results will be based on the lowest combined time on descent-oriented stages.  \n\nMass start in Waves (all racers at once).\nCategories for Fat Bikes and Skinny Bikes & E-Bikes\nEnduro stages – individual starts at 30 second intervals or as determined by riders.\n\nWhen / Where: \n\nRace Start: 10:00am.\nParking: South Canoe Trails\, 6970 10 Ave SE\, Salmon Arm.\nRace Start / Finish: The Dog House\, (C-Can) on Metford FSR.\nFrom the parking lot\, either bike up the Climb Trail or Metford Road if too icy.\nWatch for industrial traffic on the Metford FSR.\n\nEvent Registration: \n\nhttps://zone4.ca/register.asp?id=34299\nRace fees are free for Shuswap Cycling Club members.\nDonations for Snowdog maintenance and replacement will be accepted on site!\n\nCourse map:  \n\nFrosty Dog Fat Bike Enduro – 2024 Mountain Biking Route | Trailforks\nStage 1: KC\nStage 2: Alternative and Actual Facts\nStage 3: Flipside and Lower Schitzo\nStage 4: Mobuddah\, Bear Den\, Upper Triangle\, X-Cut\nThis could change based on conditions!\n\nTiming: \n\nWe are again using the SI Air timing system.\nActivators will be placed at the start and finish of each segment. Times are stored on your device and collected at the finish.\nWe will have a brief explanation on this before the race.\n\nCourse Pre-Riding: \n\nThe course will be marked by approximately 3:00pm on Friday\, Feb 9th.\nCompetitors should pre-ride the stages if unfamiliar with the trail conditions and level of difficulty.\nMost of the trails we will be racing will be in good shape\, but there will be icy spots and bare or low snow sections. Studded tires are recommended. \n\nRace Day Registration: \n\nCheck-in between 9am-9:45am at the Dog House staging area.\nCollect timing chip\, and sign waiver.\n\nWater:  \n\nWater will be available at the start / finish area.\n\nFood: \n\nRiders are responsible to provide their own food for the race. \nWe will have a fire to roast some dogs. Bring your own dogs and fixings and refreshments.\n\nFirst Aid: \n\nRacers are expected to ride within their abilities and are encouraged to pre-ride the course if unfamiliar with the trail system and trail conditions.\nTrail conditions vary at this time of year and are unpredictable. Expect icy areas that may be concealed by snow cover.\nStop if you encounter a rider that has crashed and offer assistance or call first aid. Time lost will be credited.\nFirst aid will be provided by a trained volunteer.\n\nEtiquette: \n\nThis is a fun-focused\, casual race. Have a good time and be respectful of volunteers and other racers.\nThe trails will be open to non-racers. Please yield to others you encounter on the trail. Time lost will be credited in these situations.\nWe are aiming for 30 second intervals but that is at the discretion of racers.\nOvertaking a rider should be done respectfully in a safe area.\nRide well and have fun! \n\nAwards: \n\nOpen categories by gender. \nResults will be announced shortly after the final racers complete\, and will be posted to https://shuswapbike.com/event/frosty-dog-2024.\nPrizes will be provided by Skookum Bike & Ski – Thanks!!\n\n \n  \n  \n  \nSkookum Bike & Ski will be on-site with Fat Bike Demo (non-racers only!).
