This past Tuesday was a windy youth ride, but fortunately we were out of there before the worst of the weather came through. Another great turnout!
The Shuswap Cycling Club hosted its annual Bike Swap during the Salty Street Fest. The bike swap was very successful, lots of kids and playful adults bought and sold their bikes.
Thanks to all that bought and sold their bikes and gear through the swap. We raised $757 to use for upcoming projects and trail work! Thanks also to the volunteers! We had 9 volunteers helping in 40 minute shifts, led by Maya & Zakia who were kept busy running the cash box and stayed from setup to tear down.

An update from Canoe Forest Products (CFP):
The 110 (Rubberhead road access) is open and is very busy with industrial traffic. JPW road maintenance as well as CFP road building crews are working along the entire length of the 110 road. Additionally, the small piles of harvested logs that were placed along the 110 road are also being processed today and Monday. As per our earlier warning, all public users are advised to use the 110 road with caution.
Salmon Arm Secondary held it’s Enduro race for 2017 on the Rubberhead trails on May 4, 2017. 48 riders from Salmon Arm, Vernon, Kelowna and Kamloops competed in 2 or 3 downhill stages. Only the downhill sections count toward a rider’s time.
Beautiful sunny skies and clear weather at last!
